A study of material and texture, combining a woven base with layered wool tufting to create dimensional, contemporary rugs rooted in traditional craft.
DURRIE OVER TUFTED

Developed under Neytt Homes, Layered Weaves explores the fusion of traditional craft with contemporary material experimentation. Inspired by the geometry and botanical forms of Mughal gardens, the designs reinterpret these elements through layered rug-making techniques. A durrie woven in sisal or rPET forms the base, with hand-tufted wool motifs layered over it. The interplay of materials creates depth, texture, and dimension, giving traditional craft a contemporary expression.
